Daydream

Continuing with my obsession with Stephen King's saga, "The Dark Tower." This song embraces the love Roland has for Susan and the pains he feels when he witnesses her death; her death was in part because of his obsession with the Dark Tower. Throughout this series, it is brought to our attention that Roland is constantly dealing with the choice to save those he loves or saving the Dark Tower from crumbling...If he chooses his loved ones, his short term life is happier. Yet with the ever impending reality of the Tower's crumbling, worlds will soon collapse and everyone's death is eminent. Given the innoncence lost with the simple magical knowledge of the Tower's inevitable doom, the choice to pursue saving the Tower is an obvious one...yet one grows grimm and filled with revenge as they witness the death of their loved ones while pursuing a greater good...

"Daydream"

I couldn't see forever
I must have been blind
It all seemed to be meant to be and
I don't know why
I don't know why

Time has taken all which once was mine
Too unkind

Caught in a daydream
In the glass that's how it seemed
I can't be more sorry
Each word I heard you scream
This nightmare so crazy
Forever I will dream
Of beauty and fire
burned

I stole away to kiss you
Only to find
I've got a new direction now and
I don't know why
I don't know why

Pain's in place of love which once was mine
Too unkind

Caught in a daydream
In the glass that's how it seemed
I can't be more sorry
Each word I heard you scream
This nightmare so crazy
Forever I will dream
Of beauty and fire
burned down
