Days of Summer
John Irving wrote a book a few years back called “A Prayer for Owen Meany.” Growing up in a Jewish home as a child who didn’t really dive too much into the practice of religion, it was interesting to read about a book so tied to Christianity. Until reading this book, the only way I gained any knowledge on this religion was by watching ‘80s demon movies! In all seriousness, “A Prayer for Owen Meany” talks about faith in love, faith in friends, and having faith in oneself. “Days of Summer” elicits those summertime memories of adolescence the story’s main characters have and the harsh realities that they are now gone and will never quite be the same.
"Days of Summer"
A story sad but true, who would believe
You only had to say goodbye
I sit here on this break you've made
Stare at the ocean in a haze
Comprehending alone
Ohhhh, I learned the hard way
The days of summer last much longer with you
I always did believe it, now I can't accept that the
Nights are longer since you've seen this through
Don't want to talk about it, Ain't it obvious that I need you
If you love me stay in town
With you here I'll stick around
Empty threats don't matter
How you saw it end this way
Too many dreams in too many days
After thoughts mean nothing
Ohhhh, You could have told me
The days of summer last much longer with you
I always did believe it, now I can't accept that the
Nights are longer since you've seen this through
Don't want to talk about it, Ain't it obvious that I need you
Ain't it obvious that I need you
